I am so happy that I chose to work with StarPower Systems! They are a small local company that has years of expertise with solar systems. Matthew was very friendly to work with, but more importantly he walked me through my options and explained in detail the system and all of the steps along the way. For those that don't know, Matthew is the owner, who came on site before we had a contract and eventually came with a team to do the installation. If you have loads of questions and want to understand a lot of the technical details of your solar situation, then you will love working with Matthew. I also had a great experience working with Hunter and Michele. Michele made it easy to understand the next steps in the process and worked with me to schedule an install date. Before choosing StarPower Systems, I spoke with several other (larger) companies. With the other companies, I only talked with sales reps and was usually required to sign a contract before getting a technician to come out. I'm not saying this was a bad experience, in fact most of the sales reps were friendly to talk to. However, my overall experience with StarPower Systems was great from the start. The absolute cherry on top was that StarPower Systems cost ended up being cheaper than other companies (including the exact same panels and inverters, etc).

I was very happy working with Jacob, Matthew, and Jake on solar installation they did on our ADU. Not only were they very professional but also had great customer service. I needed my inverter to be replaced. As soon as I had the replacement in hand, Matthew was very quick to come in and replace it. He was professional and as far as I could see, is a true engineer. He went above and beyond to fix some compatibility issues with the inverter mount and got me access on the solar app so that I can start monitoring the status of my panels, and all for a reasonable price. Overall, I was very pleased with the service i got.

Soleil, CFO, amazing communication skills, always there for me by text/email/phone, always felt like she was multiple steps ahead of me when it came to scheduling/inspections/invoicing. Matthew & Soleil they are the POWER TEAM in the Bay Area Solar Industry. Everything was 5 STARS Pricing: hard to beat them Knowledge: before I signed any contracts, Matthew probably spent well over an hour on the phone explaining the technical side of things to me Installation: 17 Silfab panels running on Solar Edge Inverter/Power optimizers 100% installed and running in 2 DAYS!!! Permitting: I didn't have to deal with San Jose city or PGE at all, if you know, you know. that's a blessing Seriously, I could go on for days on how awesome StarPower Systems was. The experience was simply flawless.

I was getting an EV, thus thinking of going solar. Starpower gave a competitive quote quickly and was accommodating in revising it with number of panels and panel wattsge, and inverters. Matthew came out to survey the roof and answered many questions and talk about options to hook up to the breaker box, a testament to his experience and knowledge above solar and electrical. The whole project was quite to complete in 2 weeks as oppose to 2 months I got from other installers. I raised the concern above bird on the roof, Matthew disapproves what I saw on internet and found a better crittle guard with reasonable price. The whole installation was trouble free for me and Matthew work hard to finish it on time beside being short handed. Had a problem with the inverter data reporting after installation, Matthew took care of that too. Highly recommended.

Very Helpful and knew what the problem was with my system. After the company that installed my system filed bankruptcy and did not honor the warranty. I contacted several other big solar companies concerning my issue for a repair, I was just another number and $$$ to them. StarPower Systems (Matthew) helped me out! He is very knowledgeable and informative. He took the time to answer my calls, text .. big companies gave me the general run around. We bought Solar for our home with a battery back up in 2019 from PetersenDean/Solar4America. Systems worked great until June 2021 when the battery failed during a power outage. Didn't know what to do, where to turn since our install company went bankrupt. Researched electricians on Yelp. Matthew responded immediately. Their team arranged to come out and troubleshoot the problem. We were up and running quickly. StarPower was great and we will be keeping their info in case of any other issues. Would highly recommend them to anyone with Solar or who wants Solar installed.

We are off-grid, and had a last-minute emergency situation during a weekend holiday. Luckily, Matthew was very responsive and accommodating. He came prepared with all his tools in the company truck, and later returned with his team to assist. Matthew has extensive knowledge in the solar domain -- he previously was at another solar company and has also been teaching. We respect his methodical troubleshooting, and appreciate that he explained his thought processes and recommendations throughout the process. We were able to learn a great deal about our system and safety best practices thanks to Matthew. He arrived on-time or early, kept great communication (including a genuine check-in after the last service call), and helped install our new batteries in a professional manner. Matthew also went above and beyond to fix up some of our loose wires, helped push along conversations with our battery vendor, and even lent us some of his batteries while our new ones were being built.
